Match report NMJFC U8 Hornets - 19/03/23
Outstanding performance from The Hornets this weekend!
It was an honour to be the first team at HPJFL and get to show our appreciation to Mike Taylor. We explained to the boys, the reason why we were expressing our appreciation to the the man that founded NMJFC and the kids done us proud.
With the early start, we were eager to see how the lads would perform after some great performances in the last few weeks. This particular fixture is always one to look out for and even though the team name has changed, we are very familiar with Buxton Whites and once again we were involved in a fantastic game of football.
Finley took his turn in goal for the first-half and was superb. The energy normally provided by Finners (When his in defence) just wasn’t there and The Hornets struggled to deal with Buxton’s play in the last third & were lucky to get away with a couple of early scares. We sharpened up and began to find some confidence and the magic followed.
Oliver B played the perfect ball to Albie who got The Mini-Millers going. 💥 These two lads represent everything we stand for! Playing a pass when you see your team-mate in a better position. Well done Oliver B & Albie.
Buxton came straight back at us and at Half-Time there was nothing separating the teams.
Second-Half Oliver B took the gloves. He was fantastic and made sure the Mini-Millers got what they deserved.
Ollie M was working hard. Making runs and fighting for the ball. This lad is improving week on week and was unlucky not get on the score-sheet.
Finley, Oliver L & Frankie in defence, these lads made sure they kept it tight. Between the three of them they showed incredible courage & even when we lost one of them due to an injury, the others stepped straight in.
The Hornets got what came good in the second-half and it was great to see Finley💥 & Oliver L💥 score. This little team are proving themselves week-in, week-out now. This particular weekend, they showed us how they can dig-deep and take whatever is thrown at them.
