Match report NMJFC Under 10s - 10 Oct 21

NMJFC U10 vs Whaley Bridge Tigers U10

An absolute fantastic game of football was enjoyed by both sets of players, coaches and parents today at Glossopdale.

New Mills found themselves 2 goals down after being hit very well on the counter, the first of which was a lovely bit of wing play. The spirits of the team didn't drop and New Mills continued to battle well and play some lovely football, and were rewarded with a goal back just before half time from a corner,

Ollie whipped the ball in and India was at the back post to bundle it over the line for her first goal for the team. The second half started quickly for the Millers with Daniel F scoring a tap in after a good save from the Whaley keeper. The Millers kept pushing forward and got a goal to put them in the lead, Daniel F again finishing from close range. Bertie added a fourth again from good football down the wing. Whaley Bridge continued to be a threat on the counter but were mostly stopped by Gregory and Tommy who produced a majestic goal saving slide tackle and Cole was out quickly on a one on one to thwart the striker.

Whaley did score again to set up a tense finish. Alex continued with his energy and forced a throw in from his press, Bobby took a long throw into the box which evaded everyone and Stan prodded the ball over the line.

MOM went to Daniel F, who was fantastic upfront in a position he has never played before and was rewarded with 2 goals for his efforts.
