Following a number of great performances either side of Xmas, NMJFC U11s started the second phase of the cup competition in the top group. Some excellent teams to face over the next few weeks.
Today's game against Poynton Whites showed how hard the task in hand is for these lads. With 3 missing the U11s had some personnel changes across the pitch, Harris slotting in on the left with ease
The whole game was played with passion and great attitude from both teams. Olly M started the game on fire and the link up play with Joel down the right was excellent. Communication was brilliant, particularly in the first half with encouragement for nearly passes or scuffed shots meet with 'unlucky, right idea. Keep it going’ and the such.
One particular passage of play saw 5 passes take the ball from Dillan all the way to a shot from Ollie B. A brilliant turn from Toby took 2 players out of the game, pass inside to Ollie B who saw another shot saved. Ollie was proving a threat up front, but a tweak to his knee brought about a change and Josh joined Toby leading the line.
Defensively the team were looking solid, a volleyed clearance from Stan had the crowd gushing and Dillans handling from corners was top notch.
Ben and Lewis in the middle put passes together well and were always looking for the 1,2s to open up space.
All in all a positive, enjoyable game of football played to a very high standard. Well done to Josh who took the managers MotM for his tenacity, stamina and listening to the role his manager asked of him.
