The U12s travelled away this week having their first visit of the season to Great Moor.
After a couple of weeks where results haven't quite gone as their play suggested it should have, they finally all came away smiling from this one!
Within 2 minutes of kick off our fast paced winger George intercepted the ball from a goal kick and scored with his skills and fast thinking.
With the team communicating really well this week much of the first half saw them have the majority of possession.
One counter attack from the opposition saw them claw back a goal 20 minutes in. With the teams determination to not conceed before the whistle blew for half time our striker Theo scuffed in a shot that bobbled into the bottom corner.
2-1 up at the break the kids half time talk consisted mostly of how to better this half of their game compared to previous weeks played. With fitness improving every week from all players they were raring to go in the second half and 5 minutes in another goal came from a cheeky outside right tap from Jack.
Liam’s hard work on the left wing paid off with him scoring 5 minutes later follwed by a right footed volley dipping over the keepers head from Jack.
With half of the team playing out of their usual positions, due to some being unavailable for this game, they were a pleasure to watch and adapted well today. Every player contributed in one way or another.
Some superb kicks up field from our keeper Jake and strong defensive lines making it hard for the opposition to find a way through from Josh, Alfie, Harry and Filip.
Midfields working their socks off so credit to George, Jack, Liam & Theo and some great running up front forcing errors on the oppositions defence from Louis and Kyle.
These kids weren't finished there....two more goals were had before the final whistle blew... a header from a corner for Jack and interception and drive from Liam taking the game to a 7-1 win!
Absolutely deserved result today.
A fab team that are so easy to coach when they play like this. All we have to do is shout praise🤣
Credit to them all today, I'm so proud, and hope this gives them the confidence to continue on and realise just how good they are!
MOM today was Jack (aka pineapple head) 🍍🏆
