Bollington Vs New Mills u13s

A beautiful sunny morning but different start for the lads today with a stand in coach and players missing from the squad. With no subs available, the first half proved hard work. A very early goal from Bollington and a follow up goal for New Mills from Liam set the pace of the game.

Most would say a frustrating, action packed first half for the Millers today but lots of talking, a great cross from George and awesome save by Jake in net kept them working hard. Couple more for Bollington with their midfield constantly pushing the ball forward but another for George leaving the home side leading 4-2 at half time.

During the break, the lads evaluated their own game, they figured out who needed to be where and how to switch things up and they went out a different team!

A well instructed Bollington made the Millers work hard again but the passing, runs onto the ball and use of space gave better results.

Mention to Nye for some superb defending.

Jack Bull then scoring a blinder kept the game 4-3.

The second half was purely down to how the lads wanted to play the game for themselves, they were brilliant at half time, supportive, understood what needed to change and who needed to be where to change the game and put the pressure on Bollington.

They should be very proud of taking control of their own game. They were a joy to be around and never gave up today, well done lads!
