Match report NMJFC Under 14s girls - 4/12/21

Macclesfield Town U14 Girls 5-1 New Mills U14 Girls

The match was played in awful wet, cold and very windy conditions, however the pitch held up very well to the elements.

In the 1st half the wind was against New Mills which proved to make it difficult to move the ball through the air and had to rely on their skills on the ground. They defended really well against a very good Macclesfield team who played some lovely football, especially down the right wing.

New Mills caused a few problems themselves and came up against an excellent opposition keeper who was particularly quick off the line. Macclesfield scored 2, 1st half goals the second of which was a fantastic team goal.

Jodie had a great half in goal, commanding her area well and had good handling in tricky conditions. New Mills did well to stay with Macclesfield and were rewarded in the 2nd half with a goal by Maddie running through and finished well through past the keeper.

New Mills tried hard to get back level and had the chances to do so, but a good Macclesfield counter managed to give them a cushion.

New Mills continued to try but we're running out of steam and Macclesfield scored another 2 before the end. A good performance by the girls who were all soaked through and freezing by the end, a special mention for Isla and Kirsty for really good performances.

GOG went to Jodie, some really good saves, much improved handling, quick off the line and commanded the box very well.
