Match report NMJFC Under 15s - 25 April 2021

New Mills 4 - 3 Cheadle & Gatley Siroccos

With it being level at 1 win each in the league today was a playoff to see who took the 3pts in the league. It was also our first game of the cup competition so it really was a 6 pointer game.

Both teams started fairly even on a dry and bobbly pitch. The first half was quite a scrappy game with neither team really testing each other's keeper. The boy's did come out much stronger 2nd half with New Mills taking the lead after a fine finish across the keeper from Lucas. The boys didn't stop there and from a corner AJ doubled the lead with a bullet header. Cheadle soon halved our lead minutes after the restart and soon after drew level. A excellent free kick from some way out straight in the top corner from Connor put us back ahead 3-2. All the boys had to do was hold out for the final few minutes only for Cheadle to equalise with minutes to go. The boys never gave up and the last kick off the game a long free kick into the box from captain Ben saw MOTM Connor get across the keeper to head home the winner. A really entertaining 2nd half from 2 evenly matched teams. Great team performance again today, well done boys 👏🏼
