Match report NMJFC Under 7s Blacks

An Epic Encounter - It was Derby Day for New Mills youngest crop of players and on Sunday they got to play against eachother - FOR REAL!

These two teams train together every week and have done for almost 2 years now but this match had a different feel to it & it didn't disappoint.

Once the nerves settled we started to see some great football being played by both teams and then came the opportunities to score for The Blacks.

Toby in goal for The Yellows made a couple of great saves.

The Blacks thought they had secured a First-Half lead after Albie dribbled his way down the right wing then cut in to score!! A stunning goal was ruled out by the ref for an earlier infringement!

Second-Half was a much more even and the Yellows took the lead through a stunning strike by Ronan⚽️

Blacks then came firing back with a clinical finish from Frankie⚽️

This game was far from over yet....

Stanley⚽️ received the ball in the last third of the pitch but still had it all to do. He kept his composure and slotted the ball away to give The Blacks the lead !!

In the final minute, The Yellows came back again and the ball fell to Ronan⚽️ who blasted it home off-the-post!

We thought it was over but The Yellows created another opportunity and it fell again to “Ronan The Rocket” 🚀 who was only denied by an outstanding save from Jacob!!

A fantastic match to watch with some great tackles, passing, dribbling & shooting served up by our little superstars.

The real winners here were our parents who were treated an outstanding match and the kids did themselves proud.

Special mention to Ollie M & Jacob who both took a half in goal for The Blacks and were both brilliant 👏
