Match report NMJFC Under 7s Yellow - 5/12/21

The Yellows were on the first round of games at Glossopdale this morning in an early kick-off against Hayfield U7’s.

Ten games into their debut season and the Yellows have made such huge progress. So far it’s just been about giving everyone as much game time as possible, getting them used to competitive matches and most importantly having fun!

Today the coaches decided to take that next step and introduced a formation for the team to play in with a focus on every player following their own specific instructions and sticking to the right shape.

The result was amazing! Every single player following their instructions, there was an increase in communication on the pitch and a more balanced approach to their play using the spaces to play some fantastic passes and through balls.

The Yellows understanding of the game and of each other gets better every week. From the first whistle to the last their desire and attitude was amazing and rightly walked off the pitch over the moon with their performance today.

Special mention to today’s captain Leo. Brilliant listening to his instructions today. He played in two different positions and understood exactly what was needed in both of them. Fantastic running, tackling and so close to breaking his goal duck for the season. Leo’s getting better every week and today was another stellar performance.
