Match Report - NMJU7 - Saturday 5th November
It’s bonfire night and there certainly were some little rockets on the pitch today. We had some damp conditions for the lunch time kick off at Brinnington, against Buxton Young Bucks.
We were almost back to a full team this week with a return of Teddy and Paige, giving us 1 rotating substitute.
It was a strong start from the Millers against a tough Buxton side with lots of good moves in midfield from James and Paige. The hard work soon paid off as Stanley managed 3 goals in close succession.
Buxton YB came back hard towards the end of the first half and the Millers saw some excellent defensive work from Tobias, and saves from Teddy, our first half goalkeeper.
The second half brought Jackson in as goalkeeper, pulling off some more great saves.
The switch-around meant Paige was up front with Teddy rotating in midfield, both of them narrowly missing out on getting a goal each.
More hard work from James providing some excellent passing, enabling Stanley to add another to his tally.
The whole team worked their socks off today, and a little drizzle wasn’t going to stop them pushing until the final whistle.
Player of the match deservedly went to Tobias, who continued in defence stopping anyone who tried to pass.
Well done U7’s - Roll on next week !
