A drizzly morning at Glossopdale this morning for our game against Chinley U7 Whites. The Falcons were back with a full squad today against familiar opposition. An unusually slow start from the Falcons saw them struggle to get into the game with the opposition seeing a lot of the ball. There was a lot of defending needed from the Falcons today against some quick attackers. It wasn’t until the second half that the Falcons started to show more attacking threat and were rewarded by an outstanding 20 yard goal (that lobbed the goalkeeper!) from Alfie ⚽️ and an own goal ⚽️. Special mention to today’s captain Holly. Thrust into midfield from kick-off, Holly had the tough job of keeping up with Chinley Whites’ fast paced midfield. But she did a great job, with some excellent tackles, fantastic marking and with her attacking play improving in the second half, was unlucky not to score when her strike hit the post.
With two league games to go, the Falcons are determined to finish their debut season on a high and are already looking forward to next week. Great effort from the Falcons today.
