Match report NMJFC U9 Hawks - 04/12/22

v Chinley

The Hawks were fired up for this fixture in the HPJFL and what a game they delivered.

It’s been a season of change for this team with new squad members joining and they’ve all been working really hard in our training sessions every week. As a coach, one of the most exciting things to see on a match day, are things we’ve been working on in training and this fixture provided this in abundance!

Joe played a first half in goal making some great saves and serving up great distribution from his goal kicks.

Liam and Shea were our partnership at the back and what a brick wall they were!

Harley provided the pace on the right wing with Kian working hard down the left to keep pressure on our opponent.

Ella dominated the centre of midfield, dropping back when needed and driving us forward in attack.

Bradley was our striker today and worked his socks off, constantly closing down Chinley and defending from the front.

A couple of changes in the second half saw James come into goal providing important saves yet again and Oliver playing in centre midfield who had a fantastic game for us!

Goals today came courtesy of Harley ⚽️ Liam ⚽️ and Bradley ⚽️ and in particular the first goal was nothing short of pure brilliance from the entire team. Played out from the back, 1-2’s, switching play and a fantastic through ball from Kian for Harley to slot home really was one of the best team goals I’ve seen. Excellent work Hawks 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Man of the match: Shea 🏆 - it was hard to pick just one today but Shea had a really great game and made some crucial tackles and interceptions to keep Chinley out.

One of the best performances I’ve seen from this team. They really are a privilege to coach.
