Match report NMJFC U9's Hornets V Chinley Green -24/9/23

The Hornets, as a collective, are becoming one-big family. This sounds ridiculous but when you see the bond between the players, siblings, parents, grandparents & the coaches, it is incredible!

The team were celebrating Oliver B's birthday on Saturday and I had concerns that they wouldn't be 'Match-Fit' on Sunday morning. I was completely wrong!

The boys were on fire and there were some moments in the game when the coaches couldn't believe what they were seeing. The way the boys were shifting the ball and including everyone in the build-up play was a pleasure to watch.

Second-half we attempted to test our own team by playing the defensive lads up-top, then brought our wingers & forwards back and asked them to be defenders. They nailed it!!

Well done Hornets, there will be tougher games ahead so keep focused & keep learning 💛🖤⚽️

Player of the Match was Oliver B 👏 (The Birthday Boy) - He is loving 7-a-side football more than any of them. Oliver is linking up the the attacks and even got a goal himself!

Fantastic turnout for the New Mills Carnival today. Lots of happy smiling faces (given the weather) which was great to see. Thanks kids...
