Wilmslow Town Vs NMJFC U11 Girls
We were all slow to start in this game today with a well organised Wilmslow side using their passing to perfection.
Wilmslow opening the score sheet and frustration in the New Mills side showing set the atmosphere for the rest of the first half. We seemed to stand off and wait for them to come to us for the first 20 minutes of our game, with the side-line players coming on for fresh eyes Freya B grabbed us one back and the Mini Millers mood improved. Another for Wilmslow left us fighting for a goal with about 5 minutes to go…beautifully taken by Ava on the volley! An honest half time chat and bringing the smiles back the second half was a totally different game, New Mills dug deep, upped their game and wanted that ball with better passing, better insight, better pressing and a lob over the defence from Freya B, landing for Nayia with a one on one with their keeper. Looked from the side like you’d back out of that but well done for having a go and finding the back of the net for the team. With coaches and spectators clinging onto what we thought would be an even score, the girls worked hard and picked themselves up time and again, Lily again, brave and communicating and getting onto the end of those shots, both our defenders worked really hard today and have a great team relationship for our back wall. Never underestimate these girls, they get better each week and learn fast, more than holding their own against tough teams and proving themselves. We are very proud of you all. Girl of our game today was given by Paul to Nayia, who was determined after a shaky start – well done kiddo. #upthemillers #nmjfc #yesgirls
