Alderley United Vs New Mills u11s Girls
Both teams respecting a minute’s silence was lovely to see this morning. The Miller’s warmed up with positivity and good attitudes to face a very well organised team who have their passing and positional work down to a tee. Alderley opening the score sheet early on making us work hard all over the pitch. Soon to grab an equaliser from Freya B with an assist from Nayia.
Some great clearing out from the back in the first half but Brooke, our Captain for today, and others, taking quite the clattering throughout.
Plenty of consistent energy but the score remained equal for the half time break.
Change around and a better second half with the girls full of determination. Ava consistently battling and all over the pitch, never giving up in many 1v1/2v1 situations, absolute work horse for us today!
Freya B taking a few knocks as well but proving her point with a goal, Alderley quickly equalising. Digging deep and moving the ball forward much better with well-timedpassing resulted in a frustrated Freya L scoring after she had tried many times, just keep it up, you see the opportunities and take the opposition by surprise every time, good job! Ahead of the game and with a point to prove Ava worked the ball all through a tough midfield and sliced it across, Freya B finding the back of the net, good teamwork! More small personal achievements during this game makes us coaches very proud. Freya B you stayed tough today and used the frustration to your advantage, awarded a penalty and taken with power, one for yourself and for your team that one! Just to put the icing on the cake for the Millers, Freya L secured us another – but we must mention that halfway free kick you took that that just went over the bar but nearly took the netting out from behind the goal, fierce! Better talking, better movement of the ball, better press in the second half, you girls earnt that score today. Without doubt our girl of the match today was Ava – superb.
