19th Feb Stockport Vikings Vs NMJFC U11 Girls
Well, I could go on and on about our game today and mention every single one of our amazing team for their performance, their support of each other, their confidence in their own abilities and an utterly brilliant game of football! New Mills dominated this game with a point to prove against the Vikings by keeping their shape well, attacking and most of all, the high press. Piling on the pressure keeping Stockport in their own half and taking every opportunity that came their way, made for a tantalizing watch. With 5 minutes left of the first half Freya L struck a karate kid style crane kick and blasted the back of the net from way out. So many power shots from different players, all our midfield warriors seizing chances left us holding our breath on the sidelines. With a busy goalmouth Nayia picking out Brooke who saw an opening and it squeezed it past the keeper through a tight gap, lovely skill Brooke & smiles all around. Coaches, players and supporters enthralled with Nieve’s skills down the wing again for us today, it’s so effortless and great to watch and you are obviously enjoying yourself. Jazmine on fire today and playing the ball onto a waiting Ava, who was constantly in good space. Bells your confidence is improving every week by pushing up and having that patience on the ball, keep it up.
Phoebe played a blinder today, again taking chances and closing players down and winning the ball back. Small personal wins for Freya B today, kept your head through the difficulties, let your feet do the talking and earnt yourself a goal, well done!
It’s tempting to watch whoever is on the ball but to watch the others off the ball with forward runs and working as a team leaves me in awe! Absolute deserved win. Our girl of the game today is Brooke. Get well soon to one of defenders, Jay. Clean sheet and home to get warm.
Caz. U11s Manager. #yesgirls #nmjfc Cheshire League have sadly lost a couple of young referees this week because of other people’s behaviour, thank you to our supporters for keeping it positive for both sides and our girls for fair play. #respect #weonlydopositive
