NMJFC U8's Hornets V Chapel Yellows - 15/1/23
Once again, this little team of ours showed how much they are dedicated to doing everything possible to make us compete. We are up there now, in a league where we will play some of the best teams in our local area and on a weekly basis. The Hornets showed that they are comfortable at this level but the lads still have more to learn and this is the magic of football ⚽️
Whenever we face these teams, we seem to rush, panic & not have the same confidence we have on a normal basis. As coaches, we cannot wait to work on this & get these kids to another level. With that being said, the team were absolutely outstanding and we managed to get to half-time level. Oliver L made sure we were in safe hands with some ‘Point Blank’ saves! An incredible performance that had our parents behind the goal in applause and we watched Oliver L grow another inch 👏
Second-Half – Rocket took the gloves. I love the way this team of ours take it in turns to go in goal and both Oliver L & Ronan were outstanding! It felt tense and the boys knew they were in a proper game of football and every single one of them worked their socks off. I can’t remember the last time we didn’t find the back of the net but I also know we were just minutes away from getting even. Tremendous spirit shown by The Hornets and nobody personified this more than Albie. This boys desire, hunger, grit & determination grows week by week and the qualities he is adding to his game are simply outrageous 💥 It was by far and away the best performance I have ever seen from one of our team, or even any of our opposition! Keep it up Albs.
Very proud of the shift you all put in and very much looking forward to Sunday….. When we get to do it all again.
