As the curtain came down on our U7’s inaugural season in the High Peak JFL, we were off to Buxton FC’s Silverlands stadium to compete in our first ever Cup-Final. Ironically, we were up against a good Buxton Warriors side on their own patch and the lads needed to bring their A-Game if they wanted to claim the prestigious Glossopdale Cup 🏆
The Mini-Millers were treated to a tunnel entrance on to the fantastic Silverlands playing surface with the stadium announcer introducing them as they entered onto the pitch in preparation for the big match. As coaches, it was an honour to lead this squad out who have had such an incredible start to their football journey.
They didn’t let us a down. From the first minute to the very last the boys were up to the challenge and dominated every aspect of the game. Although we didn’t get the start we hoped for, the boys never ever dropped their heads and after going a goal down, they embraced the challenge and showed the crowd what they are made of!
Reuben took the gloves & was brilliant. At the back we had Max & Teddy keeping the danger away whilst Finn, Myles & Ryan all took it in turns to reap havoc on the oppositions defence. Aiden also got his chance in between the sticks and made a great clearance in the dying the minutes to keep The Millers solid at the back.
Max💥 & Myles💥 both found the net with great finishes. POTM went to Finn, deservedly so! He was everywhere and grabbed himself a hat full off goals 🎩 ⚽️👏🏻
The best moment of the whole day was watching the team climb the stairs and receive The Glossopdale Cup 🏆
Everyone of them took an opportunity to raise the trophy aloft whilst their parents & biggest fans cheered them on!
Proud doesn’t come close kids . . . . . .
WE LOVE YOU 💛🖤⚽️🏆
