MATCH REPORT NMJFC U10s v Richmond Rovers Lazio U10s - 31st January 2026
The U10’s were back at Stockport Sports Village this weekend, taking on Richmond Rovers Lazio. The boys were still without Dylan but welcomed back Charlie J and Charlie T, which was a big boost to the squad. After a strong finish last weekend, we named an unchanged starting lineup: James in goal, Teddy and Pavak in defence, Stanley, Rhys and Jackson in midfield, with Alfie leading the line up front. The boys started brightly and were straight on the front foot, with Sta

Match report New Mills U11 Scorpions vs Whaley Bridge U11 Reds - 01/02/26
Great to play a different opponent this week, and a familiar one in Whaley Reds. Good to catch up with the coaches and discuss how the last few months have unfolded for each team. We had a full house, minus Alfie today, so we were down to one sub……. It was touch and go before kick off whether we had a full team as due to outside influences a few were running late. We kicked off with David standing strong between the goalposts, superb from the young man to adopt his second pos

Match Report NMJFC U13 girls vs Kingsway - 31/01/26
Another 9am kick off meant another early goal conceded (clearly the girls don’t do early games😂). Despite the bad start the girls put in a great performance against top of the league Kingsway First half was was generally all New Mills but we just couldn’t score. Emily, Esmee, & Brooke all came close and we thought it was one of those games. Last minute of the half and we get a free kick, from distance Brooke steps up and smashes it top corner. What a goal ! Check out the vid

Match report Sat 24 Jan 2026 14:30 Richmond Rovers Genoa U7-v-New Mills Juniors U7, Venue: DIDSBURY HIGH SCHOOL
A bright, dry day for the late kick off at Didsbury High School. There was a chill in the air, but otherwise great conditions for football. The parents did a great job getting the kids to the venue on time, giving the coaches eight U7's: Alfred, Angus, Charlie, Henry, Joseph, Louie, Ollie & Seb. There was a good time to warm up, a team chat before the game, and the goalkeepers selected, Louie for the 1 st half & Charlie for the 2 nd , both very competent between the sticks.

Our girls put on a strong and confident performance against Altrincham FC today, showing real growth, teamwork and determination throughout the match. From the opening whistle, New Mills were organised, brave and willing to work hard for one another, producing a performance that reflected how far the team has come week by week. Season 3 - Episode 17: Hat-trick Hero Haz! It was a bit of dejavu for our under 9's as we entered the 1st round of the Richard Gregg KO Cup... again! We'd already made it through to the semi final but as the other 3 teams dropped out of the league completely we were given a bye to the final! The kids were buzzing... only to be told a few days later that the league had restarted the whole competition again which meant our final which was meant to be the semi final was now actu

Match Report NMJFC U10 - 26/01/26
Today the U10s were up against Wythenshawe Pumas for an afternoon kick-off at Stockport Sports Village. We started with James in goal, Pavak and Rhys in defence, Teddy, Stanley and Jackson in midfield, and Alfie leading the line up front. Injuries meant we had no substitutes, which caused early problems. After no more than 10 minutes Teddy picked up a stitch and needed to drop back into defence, with Rhys stepping into midfield. Rhys did a great job creating play from the mid

Match Report NMJFC U13 girls vs Marple - 25/01/26
The previous two fixtures had seen the Millers narrowly lose close contests. The girls were keen to get back to winning ways however a slow start meant they were 1-0 down in the first five minutes Slowly the girls settled and started to play the better football. Brooke came close with a few long range efforts and Emily was unlucky when the keeper made a some saves. On the wing Bella had a great first half and caused problems for the full back. When called upon the defence sto

Another week another game and this time at the great pitch at Didsbury High School. The Vipers would be up against new opponents having played the other Inter Cheadle team a few weeks back. A full squad again this week with Leo as our captain to make those important decisions in the game. As always, it’s not about who starts but the whole team who get the game time to make the difference. The game started and the Vipers got on the front foot straight away, Logan and Elliot

Jude would be our first captain of the new year, leading the team and making decisions on freekicks and penalties if needed. The second match of the new year, this time with a training session before to try to prepare for the weekend fixture. This week, Stockport Tigers were the opposition, but regardless of who the other team were, the U7's needed to be match ready. The weather was warmer than last week, and with an 11.15 kick off the U7's seemed ready to go. Seb in goal for the first half, Charlie at the back, Henry & Ollie in midfield, and Tobias up front. Match Report NMJFC U13s - 18/01/26 Stockport Metro League U13s New Mills ----------- 4 Adswoods ---------- 7
The lads started fast, keeping the pressure on their opponents whilst playing same fast attacking football. It was Adswood who took the lead with a gifted goal when New Mills failed to clear their lines at the back. Adswoods lead didn't last too long as Max stayed calm to lob the keeper from the edge of the box after a fast break from the back line. New Mills could have added a second shortly after. New Mills half time team talk was easy, just keep doing what you are doing, a

Match report New Mills Scorpions vs Hillgate U11 - 11/01/2026
A repeat of the last fixture before the festive break saw us up against Hillgate. We’ve really enjoyed playing this team previously and knew we would be in for a great game. Straight away Frankie C was called into action and made a fantastic point blank save to deny the Hillgate attacker. Throughout the first half there was some great passing and fantastic work from Will playing out on the right wing. Rocco T saw a shot saved, quickly followed up another great save from Oli

Today we saw Florence return to the team for the first time in a while and it was genuinely great to see her back. Sporting our new keeper gloves, kindly provided by the club, she looked confident and composed from the start. She used her hands well throughout the match and pulled off a couple of excellent saves, setting a calm and assured tone for the team from the back. The defence worked hard and showed real energy. On the left, Poppy J was tireless, covering huge areas of

Our new building at Ollersett is going to make a massive difference to our town – but don’t just take our word for it! Here’s what you’ve had to say about the project: “I'm really hoping the development goes ahead. I feel it's vital for the teams to have somewhere to use the toilet. Especially with the club having several girls' teams which are only getting better and will most likely increase over the coming years.” “It is a very good idea and would provide much needed

Match Report NMJFC U11 Girls vs Bollington United U11 Capybaras 10/01/2026
With numbers stretched to the limit, today’s match went ahead with just five players available, our girls already facing a tough challenge before a ball was even kicked. Poppy started in goal and, despite clearly not feeling 100%, produced a superb one-handed save and another strong stop early on. Sadly, illness forced her off after just ten minutes, but her commitment to turn up and give everything set the tone for the rest of the team. At the back, Annabella on the right an
