Today the U10s were up against Bollington United Nancy Blues at Stockport Sports Village. For the first time this season, we had a full squad and also welcomed Ethan to the matchday team. James, our usual keeper, very kindly volunteered to sit this one out, with Alfie stepping up to cover in goal. All 7 girls turned up in force this weekend once again to take on Team Goal in what is only their 6th match together ever. What a fantastic performance from the team this week! From start to finish, the girls played with heart, determination, and growing confidence across the pitch. The Millers bounced back from the setback the week before with an excellent performance in there 1st meeting with Diversity Stars. The team started quick playing with high intensity, creating plenty of scoring opportunities. Some exceptional combinations between the midfield and forwards. It was a soggy one….  Today’s game started off wet for the girls who turned up ready to go nonetheless. We played Alderley United this weekend whose players didn’t fancy the rain as much and so we started the game playing 4 v 4 with 3 of our girls having to wait to get going on the subs bench.  Emily started in goal making some great saves from the Alderley attackers. Now we’re in the Sunday Stockport Metro league, cup games are played during the season rather than a cup final at season end. This adds some spice over the course of the season…. This was a really strong performance from the girls who impressed with their teamwork and passing. The Millers managed to find the net six times but in truth it could have been more. Some great football was played today. Early on Brooke, Elsie, Esmee and Lily D were linking up well in attacking areas and looking a threat. After a few missed chances the first goal arrived, Brooke was on hand to score after the keeper made a good save. Bollington remained dangerous and had a go

Santa came a little early for the NMJFC U7's. SK Kits very kindly sponsored & provided the teams rain jackets. The smiles on their faces were a sight as they were distributed before their cup match today. All the team insisted on wearing their new jackets for the first half. Only the weather warming had them removed for the second half of a well fought cup tie. Reddish NE Blues is always one of our standout fixtures. These two teams went toe-to-toe last season with very little ever separating them and this season seems to be no different again. An absolutely brilliant match that was end-to-end with both teams playing incredible football. This was a significant improvement on the weekend before against Adswood.
