The U10’s returned after a couple of weeks without a game for their second clash against Hazel Grove Jets in the Vernon Trophy group stages. There was a real sense of occasion ahead of the penultimate game of the season, with just one league fixture left before the summer break. Millie took her place in goal and delivered a strong, assured performance. She handled everything that came her way with confidence and, just as importantly, distributed the ball brilliantly. New Mills were up against High Lane Gazelles today for a lunchtime kick-off at Stockport Sports Village. The boys started with James in goal, Rhys and Charlie T in defence, Stanley, Charlie J and Jackson in midfield, with Dylan leading the line as striker. Another 9am kick off meant another early goal conceded (clearly the girls don’t do early games😂). Despite the bad start the girls put in a great performance against top of the league Kingsway First half was was generally all New Mills but we just couldn’t score.
